The Foundation of Gracie Barra

Gracie Barra was founded in 1986 by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and has grown into one of the world's largest and most influential Jiu-Jitsu organizations — 1,000+ schools across six continents, all teaching the same structured curriculum under one mission: Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone. Gracie Barra Coppell carries that legacy here in Coppell, Texas.

Born in Macapá, Brazil, Professor Augusto Rabelo brings over 16 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and more than 10 years competing at a high level. An accomplished IBJJF competitor known for his technical precision and relentless competitive spirit, Augusto specializes in the K-Guard system, blending modern competition technique with strong fundamentals. For him, Jiu-Jitsu is a path to discipline, confidence, and growth — on and off the mats.
